Dr. Lance Setterfield conducted a one day microneedling class in Las Vegas, nevada to coincide with the 25th Annual Convention of the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals where he was invited as a guest speaker. SCOPE OF PRACTICE with needling was a prevailing theme. Given that complications with microneedling are on the rise, (complications such as granulomas, allergic reactions, and PIH or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation) Dr. Setterfield discussed how to best avoid complications with proper training, proper technique, and proper patient selection. The correct use of topical products and skin care with needling procedures was reviewed as this could be the key to successful needling procedures.
